Description
The tower at Borraco was built in 1570 as part of the Spanish Crown's coastal defensive system in southern Italy. It has a square base and prismatic shape and on each side it has three machicolations and two arquebus musket points in its battlements. Inside the basement there was a cistern for collecting rainwater while the upper floor was accessed by a simple wooden staircase. Its current appearance is the result of restoration work carried out in 2011.
